Testimony from Stir Up the Fire Conference
Dr. Peter Bellini preaching at the Stir Up the Fire Conference
I long for what John Wesley called ‘primitive Christianity,’ a faith grounded in community, empowered by the Spirit, focused on Jesus. But, when I consider the American church today, I don’t see the early church, I see a barren tree. In Luke 13 a barren fig tree is given one more chance by a servant who spends his time digging and fertilizing and watering. The team at Spirit & Truth are that servant in the vineyard. In their work, they are digging around the church, adding fresh soil, watering, and pruning - giving the tree a new chance for life and fruitfulness.
This ministry has helped to breathe new life into my ministry and into me as a pastor. I have participated in a couple of Awakening weekends and attended the very first Spirit & Truth conference in 2019. This last year I participated in the disciple-making cohort. I am a Firebrand reader and a Plain Truth listener. In this ministry I have found brothers and sisters who can speak to my orthodox faith in the power of the Spirit, and the love of the Father. These faithful servants have helped the roots of my faith grow deeper and the fruit of my ministry grow richer.
